The beaches of Burgas

Thirteen distinct beaches in and around Burgas — from the city centre to the quiet coves in the south and the saltworks in the north.

Central Beach

The main city beach, right beside the Sea Garden — about 2 km of fine sand, gentle entry, guarded, with showers and beach bars. A 5-minute walk from the centre.

North Beach

5 km north of the centre, between the sea station and the Sarafovo district — a 1.8 km wide beach with dunes and fewer crowds than the central one. A favourite with surfers.

Sarafovo Beach

In the eponymous district 8 km north of the centre, next to Burgas Airport — about 1.5 km of sand and shallow water. Seaside restaurants, ideal for children.

Kraimorie

In the southern district 7 km from the centre — small rocky coves with crystal-clear water, great for snorkelling. Deeper entry, suited to swimmers.

Otmanli Beach

12 km south of the centre in Rosenets Park — a wild beach with dunes, part of a nature zone. No facilities or sunbeds — bring everything you need.

Atlantis Beach

In the Sarafovo district — paid and free zones, lifeguards, a cycle path and stylish beach venues.

Sarafovo Port Beach

A small sheltered cove next to Sarafovo Port — calm water, fine sand and the romance of fishing boats.

Saltworks North Beach

Black, iron- and magnetite-rich sand next to the Burgas saltworks — combine sea bathing with curative mud and lye.

Kraimorie North Beach

Kraimorie's northernmost strip — Bay of Burgas panorama, easy access and parking nearby.

Kraimorie South Beach

Kraimorie's southernmost strip — soft sand, clear water and quiet away from the crowds.

Rosenets Terminal Beach

A small, wild strip near the Rosenets oil terminal — rocks, dense vegetation and seclusion.

Tip

For the quietest beach at peak summer, try Kraimorie or the northern end of North Beach — there's always space. The finest sunsets are at Kraimorie and Rosenets.
