About Lozenets
Key facts about Lozenets — around 630 permanent residents, part of Tsarevo municipality, one of the most atmospheric seaside destinations in Strandzha.
The bohemian village by the Strandzha
Lozenets is a small seaside village in Tsarevo municipality, 58 km south of Burgas and 10 km north of the municipal seat Tsarevo. The village sits on a rocky shore just 12 metres above sea level, looking out on an open bay with a long sandy beach to the north.
Lozenets has around 630 permanent residents, but thousands of guests stay here in summer. The village land covers about 13 km² and includes part of the Strandzha pine forest, the Coral and Oasis coves, and the nearby hamlet of Varvara just to the south.
Lozenets holds a special place in Bulgarian tourism — since the 1990s it has been a favourite with artists, musicians and creative communities. Today the village hosts numerous festivals — jazz, cinema, independent music — and combines an authentic fishing-village spirit with a modern boutique scene.
