Architecture and location
The museum is located in the heart of the city, at 31 Lermontov Street. It occupies a remarkable building listed as an architectural cultural monument — the historic home of the prominent Burgas mayor and public figure Ivan Brakalov, built at the start of the last century and distinguished by an elegant neoclassical style.

Exhibits and prized collections
The permanent exhibition offers a detailed look at the economic, political and cultural development of Burgas as a strategic port and trading centre. The museum's holdings include valuable collections of National Revival icons, church utensils, early printed books and historical documents.
