About Lozenets
Key facts about Lozenets — around 630 permanent residents, part of Tsarevo municipality, one of the most atmospheric seaside destinations in Strandzha.
The bohemian village by the Strandzha
Lozenets is a small seaside village in Tsarevo Municipality, located 60 km south of Burgas and about 7 km north of the municipal centre of Tsarevo. The village sits on a rocky shore at an elevation of just 12 metres, overlooking an open bay and a long sandy beach to the north.
Lozenets has a population of around 600 permanent residents, but during the summer season thousands of visitors stay here. The village's territory includes part of the pine forests of Strandzha, as well as Coral and Oasis bays, while the neighbouring villages are Velika — about 4 km away at the foot of Strandzha — and Tsarevo, about 7 km to the south along the coastal road.
Lozenets holds a special place in Bulgarian tourism — since the 1990s it has been a favourite with artists, musicians and creative communities. Today the village hosts numerous festivals — jazz, cinema, independent music — and combines an authentic fishing-village spirit with a modern boutique scene.
