City symbol
The Compass
A sculptural composition in the Sea Garden.
The Compass is a landmark in the city of Burgas, known locally as "the Navel" (Pŭpŭt). It was built in 2011.

Beyond its aesthetic value, the architectural composition also serves as a zero-kilometre marker — it marks the centre of the city (matching the GPS coordinates) and is the reference point from which distances to other towns are measured.
It is located at the intersection of Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodiy Street and Aleksandrovska Street in Burgas.
