“A Taxi to Heaven” (Bulgaria, 2026, 95 min) is a black comedy by Todor Chapkanov and Ivan Nitchev after Dimitré Dinev’s novella “Night Vigil”. A Bulgarian construction worker dies suddenly in Vienna, and his wife invites his closest friends to a night-long vigil over the deceased, which, fuelled by alcohol, turns into a Dionysian mystery. The film also follows two employees of a funeral agency that brings the remains of Bulgarian emigrants back home. Burgas premiere; after the screening the director Ivan Nitchev talks with the audience. In the Toncho Rusev Hall. Starts at 19:00.
