The Aheloy river mouth
The northern end of the beach — a beautiful place where the small river meets the Black Sea. Good for bird-watching, short walks and perfect for sunset photos.
Fishing harbour
A small harbour at the southern end of town with dozens of fishing boats — where fresh fish arrives each morning. Most Aheloy restaurants serve the day's catch.
917 Battle Memorial
A modest monument near the town commemorating the battle of 20 August 917 between Tsar Simeon I and Byzantium. The historic site lies on the fields north-west of town, near present-day Kableshkovo.
Seafront promenade
A pedestrian promenade running the length of the beach — about 1.5 km with benches, green spaces and small cafés. Perfect for a morning run or after-dinner stroll.
Dormition of Mother of God Church
A small Revival-era church from the late 19th century in old Aheloy — modest architecture, a carved wooden iconostasis and a local painter's workshop. An active parish for feast days.
Nearby destinations
Aheloy is a good base for day trips — Pomorie 8 km away with healing mud and the Thracian Tomb, Nessebar 12 km (UNESCO) and Sunny Beach 5 km with water parks.
