Four different beach strips — from the small town beach to the wild dunes of Smokinya a few kilometres south.
Central Beach
A small beach between the old and new town, an easy walk from both, with harbour views. Good for a quick dip.
Harmani Beach
The main beach of the new town — about 1 km of fine sand, with beach bars, showers and a guarded zone. Family-friendly.
Kavatsi
About 3 km south of Sozopol, between Cape Chrysos and Cape Agalina — a spacious beach roughly 2 km long with a gentle entry to the sea and campsites nearby. Often windy, it is a favourite among surfers and kitesurfers.
Smokinya and Alepu
6–9 km south — wild beaches inside the Smokinya protected area and the Alepu lagoon, with dunes and protected flora. Less infrastructure, ideal for quieter days.
Tip
South of Sozopol the coast is protected land — keep to marked paths and stay off vegetated dunes.
