Veleka Beach
An 800-metre wild strip of fine sand between sea and the Veleka river. Reaching it means wading across the river (waist-deep) or taking a boat from the village — this isolation keeps crowds low. Classified as a sand dune under protected status.
Butamyata Beach
The village's main beach — south of the Veleka mouth. About 600 m of fine sand with a gentle entry, guarded, Blue-Flag certified and with several beach bars. It is the busiest beach at Sinemorets and one of the best family beaches on the southern Black Sea coast.
Rocky shore and small coves
South of Butamyata the shore turns rocky — unnamed coves and rock terraces suitable for secluded relaxation and snorkelling. The protected Silistar area with dunes and an oak forest lies 6 km further south.
Tip
For Veleka beach, do not bring anything you do not want to get wet — the river is waist-deep in a normal season. For the best view of the mouth, head to the rocks south of Butamyata right at sunset.
Spend a day in Sinemorets
A morning hike to the Veleka mouth, lunch on Butamyata, an afternoon hike in Strandzha or a kayak on the river, and a sunset dinner in a fish restaurant by the sea.
