Ropotamo Reserve
5 km north of Primorsko — a nature reserve since 1940, with liana forests, Arkutino marsh and dunes. The Ropotamo river mouth hosts over 250 bird species. Tourist boats run trips from the mouth up the river.
Stamopolu Marsh
A small wetland between the North Beach and the dunes — home to water lilies, frogs and rare birds. Accessible via a wooden walkway and observation platform. Free entry.
South Beach dunes
Tall sand dunes reaching up to 6 metres — among the tallest on the Bulgarian Black Sea. A natural reserve with rare plants. Only marked paths are allowed for walkers.
International Youth Centre
Opened in 1952 — a huge complex on the South Beach with over 40 holiday buildings and its own infrastructure. Privatised after 1989 and turned into a family hotel complex.
Beglik Tash
A Thracian rock sanctuary from the 2nd millennium BC — a complex of megalithic blocks discovered in 2003. 6 km north-west of Primorsko, accessible by car or tour.
St. Mary's Island
A small rocky islet next to Primorsko, visible from the North Beach. Legend says it held a small mediaeval chapel. A good target for a boat tour from the harbour.
