Transport
Nessebar is easy to reach from Burgas by public transport, car, ferry or taxi.
Bus
Regular intercity buses leave Burgas South Bus Station every 30 minutes in summer. Journey ~40 min. A single ticket is around €3–€4. Buses stop at the New Town in Nessebar (main bus station) and at Sunny Beach.
By car
Road I-9 (motorway A1, exit at Aheloy). About 40 km, 35–45 min depending on traffic. No vehicle access to the Old Town for non-residents — use the pay car parks at the harbour entrance.
Boat
Tourist boats leave the Magazia pier in Burgas for Nessebar and St. Anastasia Island in summer — around 70 minutes each way. Tickets at the harbour ticket office.
Taxi
A taxi from Burgas to the New Town in Nessebar costs around €20–€25 by meter. Confirm the fare before departure and use licensed cars from one of the major companies.
Getting around the old town
The old town is explored on foot — most streets are cobbled and pedestrian. Wear comfortable shoes and plan 2–3 hours for a walk.
