Poda Protected Area

A renowned bird-watching centre just ten minutes south of Burgas.

Poda has been a protected area since 1989, covering 100.7 hectares between Lake Burgas and Lake Mandra. It is among Bulgaria's richest birding sites, with more than 260 species observed — including Dalmatian and white pelicans, great egrets and slender-billed gulls. The BSPB centre offers observation decks, indoor exhibitions and family-friendly interpretive trails.
