The Lighthouse

The historic lighthouse at Burgas Port.

The Burgas Lighthouse is a Bulgarian maritime lighthouse located within the grounds of the Port of Burgas, at the end of the eastern breakwater.

Lit in 1899, it is the first Bulgarian port lighthouse. It, together with the two entrance lights, is maintained by the State Enterprise "Port Infrastructure".

In 1903, in the presence of Tsar Ferdinand I, the Port of Burgas was officially opened and a stone bas-relief bearing the Tsar's portrait was installed at the foot of the Burgas Lighthouse.
