Canzonettas Under the Stars
An Italian evening on St. Anastasia Island on 30 July: Neapolitan canzonettas with the orchestra of the State Opera Burgas and conductor Svilen Simeonov.
The concert project “Canzonettas Under the Stars” is a summer musical evening devoted to the beloved tradition of the Italian canzonetta — a genre where love, the sea, nostalgia, joy and southern temperament meet.
Against the backdrop of the sea and the unique atmosphere of St. Anastasia Island, some of the most popular and best-loved songs of the Italian and Neapolitan repertoire will be heard. The programme combines lyrical, passionate and festive works that belong to the golden treasury of world vocal music.
“Canzonettas Under the Stars” will turn St. Anastasia Island into a little Naples by the Black Sea — a summer evening of favourite Italian canzonettas, the sea, romance and music the audience knows, loves and takes to heart.
