The Aheloy river mouth
The northern end of the beach — a beautiful place where the small river meets the Black Sea. Good for bird-watching, short walks and perfect for sunset photos.
Fishing harbour
A small harbour at the southern end of town with dozens of fishing boats — where fresh fish arrives each morning. Most Aheloy restaurants serve the day's catch.
917 Battle Memorial
Monument to Tsar Simeon I the Great in the central park of Aheloy, unveiled on 20 August 2007 — the 1090th anniversary of the victory. Every year on 20 August the local community centre 'Svetlina 1934' organises a ceremonial procession, a memorial service and the laying of wreaths; battle re-enactments are also held with the participation of the Avitohol association. The battlefield itself lies on the Anchialus plain north-west of the town, around Biberna Hill near present-day Kableshkovo.
Seafront promenade
A pedestrian promenade running the length of the beach — about 1.5 km with benches, green spaces and small cafés. Perfect for a morning run or after-dinner stroll.
Church of St Paraskeva
A small church in the old part of Aheloy, dedicated to St Petka (Paraskeva) — built in the early 20th century. It has modest architecture and a wooden iconostasis; it is an active parish church, with its feast day on 14 October (Petkovden).
