The beach in the Sarafovo district is one of the most favoured and peaceful spots for a seaside break in Burgas. It stands out for its fine sand, darker in places due to a high iron and magnetite content.
The seabed here is shallow and gently sloping; the water warms up quickly and is several degrees warmer than at the other Burgas beaches, making the spot ideal for families with young children. Constructed groynes (breakwaters) further shield the bay from strong currents and large waves.
The beach strip is well maintained, offering both paid sections with umbrellas and sunbeds and free areas. Lifeguards look after visitors, and the seafront is lined with a variety of restaurants and beach bars. Access is easy, including by city bus (line 15), and the proximity to Burgas Airport gives bathers a unique attraction — watching planes pass overhead at very low altitude.
